| Shock pads are steel-elastomeric laminated products that are similar in design to elastomeric bearings though they are optimized for the use as shock absorbers and dampeners in the lifting system of a self-elevated platform. Shock pads may be fitted with load measuring devices to enable monitoring of loads during the elevation process.
IRM designs & supplies rubber shock pads for jacking systems. To monitor the loads during the jacking operations, shock pads with an integrated electronics load cell have been developed.
Shock pads for offshore applications are laminated parts (rubber/metal) issued from the “Bridge Bearing Technology”. They are large elements that can withstand very high loads (more than 2000 tons) with a small deflection. |
